Cops destroy five-acre ganja field at Morgenstond

A five-acre field of approximately 12,000 marijuana plants, ranging from one foot to 12 feet in height, was found by police and destroyed at Morgenstond, Upper Berbice River.

Police said yesterday that the discovery was made during a drug eradication operation on Thursday. In addition to the field and plants, police also found about 2,000 kilos of dried marijuana, which was also destroyed.

No arrest was made.
