Global Technology, the sole authorised reseller of Apple products in Guyana, has issued an advisory to consumers to only purchase Apple products from authorised resellers due to the high risk of counterfeiting and product tampering on the international and local market.
In a statement, the company said that consumers who purchased phones and other electronic products elsewhere have complained about tampered and defective products. “There are many counterfeit products available on the market but consumers can eliminate the risk of purchasing opened or tampered products once they purchase at Apple’s authorised resellers and this is applicable internationally,” Mala Harrichand, Head of Corporate Relations for the company was quoted as saying.
It added that there are significant benefits to purchasing products from the company, including one year limited warranty coverage as well as after-sales services for technical and product support.
Global Technology became an Apple authorised reseller in 2012, offering the entire line of Apple products and after sale services, and recently launched the fourth generation Apple iPad Touch and iMac at its head office at 210 Camp and New Market Streets.
