Jury empanelled for White Water murder trial

A 12-member jury panel has been empanelled to preside over the murder trial of Mark Thompson which is being conducted before Justice Dawn Gregory in the High Court.

Thompson is on trial for the murder of Romel Williams, which occurred in January 2008 at White Water Village, North West District. The mixed jury was empanelled yesterday to hear the evidence in the case and to arrive at a verdict at the end of the trial.

Thompson is represented by defence counsel Peter Hugh while prosecutors Renita Singh and Diana Kaulesar are presenting the state’s case.
The trial will continue today with the prosecution presenting its witnesses.
