Dear Editor,
I refer to the letter in Stabroek News, dated Monday, February 18, 2013, captioned ‘No public library on the Essequibo Coast in twenty years’ and would like to inform the writer that there is a National Library Centre at Anna Regina, situated in the compound of C V Nunes Primary School.
This centre is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 14:00 hrs-18:00 hrs. At present the Committee of the National Library has plans to upgrade this centre to a branch with opening hours, Mondays-Fridays from 9:00hrs to 18:00 hrs and Saturdays from 9:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs.
Kindly note also that there is a very active bookmobile service that plies Peter’s Hall and Providence on the 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of each month.
The National Library thanks the writer for her interest in the expansion of our service and trusts that we would be able to reach a wider cross section of the population in the near future.
