DCB calling on associations/clubs to submit lists for Hand-in-Hand competition

The Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) is calling on all presidents, competition committee chairpersons of the area boards and associations to submit their list of players for the Hand-in-Hand second division limited overs knockout competition.

According to the release while the DCB is set to run off the competition shortly, none of the registered clubs/teams have submitted their list so far. The release stated that interested associations are required to submit the names of their players on or before April 26, 2013.

All the lists must have the players’ full name; it stated adding that the lists can be sent to the Administrator of DCB in care of the GCB Secretariat, Regent Road, Bourda.

DCB executive Colin Europe speaking to Stabroek Sport yesterday said:”The competition has been around for about nearly four decades and is responsible for the production of great cricketing stalwarts of this country.

“Our aim is to touch the length and breadth of Guyana in this 2013 competition which will see over 100 teams participating.

“This competition also gives each area in Guyana the opportunity to submit as much teams as possible to compete in this tournament,” Europe added.

President of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Roger Harper said he does not know who the members of the DCB are.

In an invited comment Harper, the former West Indies all-rounder briefly said: “I received and email from the Demerara Cricket Board, the email did not contain any letterhead, name or designation with regards to anyone operating under the DCB body”, “I do not know who the DCB is.”
