“I would like to thank GTM for its support in this 2013 edition. Records show that GTM has been sponsoring cricket in Guyana for 36 years which makes it the longest running sponsor in the Caribbean for any sport.

“We have also decided to spread the one-day format to Essequibo and Berbice. Also, the GCB will not be giving any monetary rewards for this tournament, instead we will be giving players equipment such as bats and other cricket gears,” he revealed.
Yee also expressed GTM’s support of the competition.

“GTM is proud to resume sponsorship of the Under 19 competition. We are also happy that son of West Indies and Guyana batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Tagenarine Chanderpaul will be a part of the tournament.

“Shiv (Chanderpaul) played at the GTM under 19 level and now his son is a part of it so we are happy to keep it in the family, he quipped.

The one day format will begin on May 6. All games will be played on a round robin basis.
Games will be played across different venues in and around Guyana.
