Rain again affects GCA competitions

Once again the unpredictable weather has forced a cancellation of last week end’s proposed fixtures of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) limited overs second-division competition which were scheduled to play in Georgetown.

The featured matches were encounters between Sophia Cricket Club and Malteenoes Sports Club at the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) along with the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) and the Transport Sports Club encounter at the Everest Cricket Club ground, Camp Road.

However, competitions committee members said yesterday that the grounds were waterlogged which resulted in the matches being postponed for the third time in the month.

Sources from the GCA indicated that they will be looking at the weather as the week progresses in order to properly analyze and set new dates for the remainder of the competition.

The GCA said it will release more information with regards to their matches later in the week.
