Chief Commissioner Zaida Joaquin, Deputy Commissioner – Administration, Domonique Van Sluytman and District Commissioner, Charissa Rampersaud of Guyana along with Chief Grenadian Commissioner, Elijah St Louis, departed on Thursday for Suriname to attend the Chief Commissioners Conference. The conference which aims at discussing issues affecting scouting within the various National Scouting Organizations is held annually from July 19 – 21 at different countries within the Caribbean Sub Region.

The Cuboree, which is the brainchild of Maria Babb, past assistant chief commissioner of Barbados, was conceived in 1972 during the 4th Caribbean Jamboree. After much urging, the idea was placed on the agenda of the conference of Chief Commissioners held in Suriname in 1974. Barbados was invited to plan and execute an experimental Cuboree during 1976 according to the release.
