NY-bound drug courier nabbed

An American citizen was yesterday afternoon nabbed with cocaine in her suitcase as she was preparing to leave Guyana on a flight bound for the JFK International Airport, New York, Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) head James Singh confirmed.

Singh told Stabroek News that 4.5 kilogrammes of cocaine was found concealed in the false walls of the woman’s suitcase sometime after lunch.

He said too that the woman was a regular visitor to Guyana.

She is expected to make her first court appearance before the end of the week.
