Armed men rob Laluni St dental clinic

Gunmen yesterday committed a daring mid-morning robbery at a Laluni Street, Queenstown dental clinic where they posed as customers.

Stabroek News understands that employees were held at gunpoint before the armed men escaped in a waiting motor car with their loot. It is unclear how much money was stolen.

Dr Sen Gupta, the owner of the dental clinic was not immediately available for comment. An employee who responded to this newspaper’s call from the front door said that everyone was at the station and she did not know anything about what had transpired

This newspaper had to press a buzzer outside the locked gate before anyone responded.

It is not clear if this is what the armed men had to do to gain access, but this newspaper was told that they said that they had appointments but once inside they brandished guns.

Persons in the area said they were unaware of the robbery until after it had occurred and the men had long gone. This newspaper was told that the men escaped in a silver car which was parked on Laluni Street facing Irving Street.

Police were in the area conducting investigations when this newspaper visited.
