GCC second division team lauded for unselfish act

Runners-up of the recent Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Noble House Seafood’s, second division competition, Georgetown Cricket Club has been lauded for their decision to hand over their prize money to the club.

GCC lost to Police Sports Club (PSC) team in the final played at the GCC ground last weekend and received $G60, 000 for second place.

In an unselfish act the team, at a simple ceremony held at the GCC ground on Thursday, decided it would be more beneficial to hand over their winnings to the club.

Manager of GCC Rudolph Singh, in receiving the cheque from GCC skipper Devin Lord stated:”This was an unselfish act by the young men of GCC who showed great integrity and maturity.

“This donation is highly appreciated by the board and all its members,” he added.
