Alvin Williams, the former Mr. Guyana and Pro Bodybuilder died on Wednesday at his residence in Grove, East Bank Demerara of natural causes. He was 73 years old.
Williams placed fifth in the 1978 Mr. Universe ion Canada which was won by Arnold Schwarzenegger — his highest achievement in his long storied bodybuilding career.
The now deceased Williams, who trained and mentored numerous local musclemen and women was the proprietor of Williams Barbell Gym.
The father of eight will be buried on Tuesday at the Grove cemetery.
