Disheartened by the shooting of Trevor Rose

Dear Editor,

Another Guyanese soul and talent have been snuffed out.  I am disheartened and angry at the shooting death of Trevor Rose.

The proliferation of guns and ammunition is astounding, considering that Guyana is not in a state of war.  It seems as if one can get hold of a gun as easily as purchasing rum.

Gun play is a runaway fashion since Clement Rohee became Minister of Home Affairs.  He should resign.  Of course, the ultimate responsibility falls on the President, Donald Ramotar.  If the PPP government cannot control the gun mentality, it should make room for another to govern.

Yours faithfully,
