Can’t get $5,000 from GPL that was awarded by PUC

Dear Editor,

I do concur with most of what was published in the letter under the heading ‘Mashramani is destroying the moral fabric of our society’ (SN, March 3).

Towards the end of October, 2013 the electricity service to my home was fittingly disconnected by GPL for non-payment of charges.

On November 1, 2013 I paid the current charges, all arrears and the required reconnection fee.

Service was not reconnected until November 15, 2013, and then only after at least two reports to the PUC and the filing of a claim to be awarded as the law provides.

To date, my account has not been credited with the five thousand dollars which officials of the PUC indicated I was due. One very candid TV personality did intimate some years ago, “GPL will make the most pious of us blaspheme.”

Yours faithfully,

Gavin A L Houston
