Kaneville man gets bail on house breaking charge

After a recent release from jail, a Kaneville man yesterday found himself once more before a court on a break and enter and larceny charge.

Rowllin Boston, 26, of Second Field, Kaneville is accused of breaking into Grace Inniss’ house on June 19 and stealing in excess of $700,000 in cash and other items.

It is alleged that Boston, at Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, broke and entered Inniss’ house and stole a gas bottle, a computer, a quantity of cash and other items, all totalling $766,400.

In tears, the unrepresented Boston told city magistrate Fabayo Azore that he was innocent of the charges levelled against him.

The magistrate, however, advised him to remain silent, since he had entered a not guilty plea, while cautioning him that anything he says could be used against him.

“I don’t know anything ‘bout this charge,” Boston cried.

Prosecutor Seon Blackman objected to the defendant being granted bail, while citing the seriousness and prevalence of the offence. The court also heard from the prosecutor that police investigations are still ongoing where Boston is the suspect.

Nevertheless, Boston’s bail was set at $150,000.

A vociferous Boston belted out expletives in frustration as he exited the courtroom, while stating that it was unfair he was being accused of something he knows nothing about and after only recently being released from jail.

His case will be called again on October 22.
