Two armed bandits yesterday carted off an undisclosed amount of cash from the Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice, Money Gram agency around 13:00 hrs.
Stabroek News understands that when the gunmen entered the premises they held the cashier at gunpoint and placed customers to lie on the floor.
Minutes after the robbery occurred at Baljit’s Enterprise, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice, four men were arrested by police in the vicinity of Number 6 village WCB. However, it is unclear if any cash was retrieved.
One customer said that whilst the robbery was in progress she went into the shop.
However, after she observed that persons were lying on the floor, she exited quietly without raising an alarm. The customer also stated that when she walked out of the store, she observed a motor car waiting at the corner.
After the robbery the men escaped in a car.
Police investigations are continuing.
