A man is presently hospitalized after he was ambushed by motorcycle bandits at Eccles who shot him twice after snatching more than $1M in cash.
Police said in a press release that at about 14:30 hours on Friday Harry Persaud, 34 years, of 139 Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, was in a motor vehicle along with a friend on the Eccles Old Road, East Bank Demerara when they were attacked by two men on a motorcycle armed with firearms.
They were held at gunpoint and police say that Persaud was robbed of $1,168,000 during which he was shot in his left hand and left thigh. The men escaped on the motor cycle.
Persaud has been admitted to the GPHC as investigations continue.
