Rugby coach, other man charged with assaulting each other

National rugby coach, Theodore Henry appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Monday on an assault charge.

Also charged with assault was Earl Jeffers of 171 Roxanne Burnham Gardens. It is alleged that on December 25 on Mandela Avenue the men assaulted each other. The 34-year-old rugby coach and the 39-year-old taxi driver both pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty.

According to Jeffers’ lawyer, the men had been involved in an accident. An argument then ensued during deliberations on who had been in the wrong.

When given the opportunity, Prosecutor Renetta Bentham made no objections to bail. The men were each granted bail in the sum of $15,000 and are scheduled to return to court to defend their cases on January 6.
