Leguan man killed in accident at Buck Hall

A man from Leguan, Essequibo River is now dead after he was involved in an accident at Buck Hall, Essequibo.

Dead is Zakeer Mohammed, 52, a miner of Leguan. According to information, at around 4.30 pm on Wednesday, motor lorry JKK 2645 driven by Leslie Baker, 41, of Amelia’s Ward, Linden had left Buck Hall with Mohammed and nine other persons in the tray of the truck as passengers.

While proceeding up a hill, the engine of the truck developed a defect which caused it to cut off. As a result the truck, rolled back down the hill and turned turtle.

All of the passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital, where Mohammed was pronounced dead on arrival. The others were treated and sent away.
