Triple murder suspect held

Joshua Franklyn, who is alleged to have murdered his mother-in-law, step-daughter and a man, as well as wounded his reputed wife was arrested yesterday morning, according to the police.

However, reports suggested that the man turned himself in in the company of his brother.

The police in a press release stated that at 8 am, they arrested Franklyn, a cane-harvester, who allegedly wounded his estranged wife Geeta Boodhoo and fatally chopped his step-daughter Ashley, 9, Boodhoo’s mother Bibi Zalima Khan, 55, as well as, Floyd Drakes, 30, who was visiting Boodhoo.

The release added that Franklyn, who had been on the run until yesterday, was arrested in the Tuschen Backdam and is in police custody, and he will be charged shortly for court.

On December 18, at 12:30am, Franklyn entered Boodhoo’s Tuschen Housing Scheme, EBE home, where he is alleged to have hacked the trio and lone survivor Boodhoo, before making good his escape.
