Grove Hi Tech to play Kuru Kuru Warriors in EDFA final

The finale of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport/East Bank Football Association (EDFA) Knockout Tournament will commence today at the Grove Community Centre ground.

In the feature showdown slated for 15:00hrs, home side Grove Hi-Tech will face  off with Kuru-Kuru Warriors in an eagerly anticipated matchup.

Overcoming Timehri Panthers by a 3-1 score line in their semi-final fixture, Grove Hi-Tech will rely on theduo of Domini Garnett and John Matthews to power them to victory when opening whistle sounds.

Awarded a semi-final bye following three teams making into the final four stage, Kuru-Kuru Warriors will attempt to clinch the upset win in enemy territory led by the trident of Cordell Johnson, Ryan Scott and Steve Gibson.

Jermin Alves, coach of Grove Hi-Tech during a pre-match comment said:“The team is full condition right now. Throughout the tournament we have been playing well and I expect them to play the same way or even much better because tomorrow is the final.

“We need to keep our standard as the number one team on the East Bank and I don’t think they will able to defeat you. It’s a must win game,” noted Alves.

Kuru-Kuru Warriors coach, Dillion Roberts during an invited comment said: “It promises to be an exciting challenge and we are looking forward to be victor in the encounter. The competition in a whole is much needed one because it’s a long time since the teams had competition.

“We have prepared and we expecting to be victorious. Our previous encounter we were the victor. We are not underestimating anyone, we are just going to put our best foot forward and play to our ability,” said Roberts.

The opening fixture at 13:00hrs will see Soesdyke Falcons battling Diamond United in the fourth place showdown. Timehri Panthers due to their loss in the semifinal round was automatically awarded the third placed position.
