Farmer gets bail after denying he killed cow

A farmer yesterday found himself in a city court, accused of killing a cow.

Terrence Suban was granted bail after he denied the charge of killing a heifer. It is alleged that on January 25, at Kwakwani Airstrip, Suban unlawfully and maliciously killed the animal.

He pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 1.

Prosecutor Michael Grant had no objections to bail and stated that the facts of the matter were as charged.

Bail was set at $75,000 but was later reduced to $50,000. The matter was transferred to the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court for February 11.
