Banks DIH gets ISO certification in environment, health and safety

Banks DIH Limited has announced that it has obtained its International Organisation of Standardisation (ISO) Certification in Environmental and Safety Management System Standards issued by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Limited as the company continues its ISO certification programme.

“The ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 Quality Management System is applicable to the Manufacturing of carbonated soft drinks in NR-PET bottles, Postmix and Premix in cyclinders and wastewater treatment plant,” a press statement from the company said.

Nandkumar Persaud, Environmental and Safety Executive at Banks DIH Limited said the certification represents compliance in Environmental Management while the OHSAS represents Health and Safety which are critical components of the company’s Occupational Safety and Health programme.

“These standards ensure that a safe and healthy environment is established and maintained for employees and other key stakeholders including visitors, contractors and surrounding communities by managing all aspects of health and safety hazards,” Persaud said. Banks is committed to the continual improvement which is measured and evaluated for effectiveness using health and safety and environmental best practices, he said.

The certification which was approved on December 16, 2014 will expire on December 15, 2017. The company’s Novelty/Dairy and Soft Drink Production plants are both ISO certified.
