Renaissance crush Riddim Squad 7-1

Renaissance got their campaign off to the perfect start, crushing Riddim Squad 7-1 when the inaugural Massy United Insurance Company sponsored Fruta Conquerors U-15 League commenced yesterday. Played at the Tucville Community ground, Shamar Bobb led the winners with a double on either side of the half time interval in the seventh and 56th minutes.

He was assisted by Travis Hercules, Carl Lynch, Isaiah Nero, Tiatun Vankenic and Bevney Marks who scored in the 13th, 19th, 37th, 42nd and 46th minutes respectively. On target in the loss was Adonia Rutherford in the 38th minute.

In the event opener, Western Tigers crushed Georgetown Football Club (GFC) by a 3-1 margin. Dominic Butts led the way with a double in the 16th and 29th minutes while Romel Maxwell scored a solo effort in the 22nd minute.

Santos FC got a walkover from Houston Stars while hosts Fruta Conquerors made an indifferent start to their tourney, battling to a scoreless draw with Beacons FC.

In the fifth fixture, Sunburst Camptown and Pele FC played to a 1-1 stalemate. Carlton Mitchell netted for Pele while Julian Smith was on target for Camptown.

The final fixture of the day saw Order and Discipline defeating Black Pearl 3-0 compliments of goals from Steve Stantes, Seader Ballamy and Junior Simon respectively.

The action continues today at the same venue with six fixtures.
