APNU+AFC seeks public’s help to track elections results

Opposition coalition APNU+AFC has launched a project to track unofficial elections results from the night of the upcoming May 11th general elections.

Dubbed “Project GPS,” the coalition, in a statement, explained that the initiative involves mapping of all the polling station locations for the polls and submitting photographs of the posted Statements of Poll (SoPs) on elections night.

“Members of the public are asked to submit the GPS locations and photos of polling stations nationwide using their smartphones via WhatsApp to mobile number 602 7021,” it said.

On elections night, members of the public are asked to take a photo of the SoP after it is posted outside the polling station and send to the same number or upload to their social media accounts using the hashtag #guyanadecides.

The coalition said all the SoPs will be collated and posted on the internet for everyone countrywide and overseas to see unofficial results.

The website on which the results will be posted will be announced later, it added.
