Busta five-a-side winners receive prizes

Winner of the inaugural Guyana Beverage Incorporated 5-aside Busta Football tourney Sparta Boss officially received their earnings yesterday at a simple presentation ceremony held at the Guinness Bar on Durban Street.

Sparta Boss claimed the top prize of $600,000 and the championship trophy following their

4-2 win over West Front Road, who clamed the second place prize of $300,000 and the runners-up accolade.

Receiving the third place prize of $200,000 and trophy was Queen Street Tiger Bay who defeated Kitty Weavers 3-2 in the third place playoff. Kitty Weavers walked away with $100,000 and the fourth place trophy.

With regards to the post tourney awards, Sheldon Shepherd of Sparta Boss was adjudged the event’s most valuable player (MVP) and walked away with $50,000 compliments of 2J’s General Store. On the other hand, Sophia’s Dwayne Lowe copped the highest goal scorer accolade with nine conversions in five matches. For his exploits, the nippy forward received a gold chain from Junior’s Jewellery.

Similarly, the most disciplined team award went to West Front Road who collected $25,000 compliments of event sponsors the Guyana Beverage Company
