Damage to distribution pipeline at Success

Guyana Water Inc wishes to respond to the letter published in the Monday, May 18 edition of the Stabroek News titled ‘Water supply change at Success/Chateau Margot’. The company wishes to clarify that no changes were made to the water supply schedule for the Success/Chateau Margot area.   It is the policy of GWI to inform customers of such changes prior to commencement.

However, following routine examinations of the water distribution network which serves the Success community, GWI teams discovered significant damage to a distribution pipeline. This is the cause of the reduced service affecting the communities. GWI’s East Coast team commenced repairs on Monday May 18 and it was expected that service should return to normal by Monday evening.

The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused. Customers are reminded that service disruptions can be reported to GWI’s Customer Services Call Centre on 227-8701, 227-8703, 227-8704 or via e-mail at customercallcentre@gwi.gy
