A man was shot dead last night at North Sophia and another man was injured.
Dead is Colin Kendall, 27, of North Sophia. Another man Keith, (only name given) was shot to his side.
A group of men were under a shed at North Sophia when a car drove up and a man with a firearm exited and discharged rounds in their direction.
Kendall called “Bow” of North Sophia was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital. “Keith” was hit to his left side and has been admitted to hospital. The perpetrator escaped in the waiting motor vehicle, the police said in a release.
Kendall’s mother June Watts, said she was at home when a child came to her and told her that someone had shot her son. She said the man’s brother and another man helped her son into a car and rushed him to the hospital. Watts said her son was arrested before for “different things” that turned out to be false. She said Kendall helped her to sell water. Watts said that her son sustained a number of bullet wounds. The woman said her son would usually lime at the shop.
