In 2011, he applied for the post of Town Clerk and was recommended by the full Council for the post on March 28. The Council was prevented from implementing its decision to appoint King and reappointed him on July 24, 2012 and again on May 6, 2014, to no avail.

King is a Chevening Scholar with an MA in Corporate Communica-tion. “His thesis crossed disciplines, and focused on Corporate Management in the context of New Media Environment,” the press release said.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership, Corporate Governance and Policy at a university in the United Kingdom.
