Final round of Futsal group matches takes place today

With four sides already through to the quarterfinal stage, the final round of group fixtures in the inaugural GT Beer Futsal Championship will commence today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with four fixtures.

The teams that have already qualified for the final eight are Sparta Boss, Albouystown, Festival City and Kitty Weavers. In the opening affair at 19:00hrs, group-D leaders and unbeaten side West Back Road will lock horns with cellar occupants and winless unit Beterverwagting (BV).

The second fixture of the night will pit second placed group-C side Sophia against bottom placed Broad Street in a must win matchup for the former at 19:45hrs.

In the third place fixture at 21:00hrs, group-C leaders West Front Road-Gold is Money will hope to seal their spot into the next round when they faceoff with third positioned outfit Showstoppers.

The final matchup of the night will be a group-D affair when second positioned Bent Street lock horns with third placed North Ruimveldt in a must win showdown for both sides.

Winner of the event will collect $500,000 and trophy while the second, third and fourth place finishers will collect $250,000, $125,000 and $75,000 and the correspondingly accolade.
