Body of Pomeroon collision victim found

After being under water for almost three days, the body of 21-year-old Kelton Benjamin of Coffee Grove, Essequibo Coast who was involved in a boat mishap on Sunday last was discovered at around 2:30am yesterday.

Speaking with Stabroek News, Shevon Benjamin said that the body of her son was discovered by the divers in the same area that the accident occurred on Sunday last.

“I was there when my son’s body was found early this morning. We immediately brought it up to Charity and took it to the Charity Police Station where we were subjected to wait before the police could help us. The body is at the Suddie Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination which is expected to be conducted tomorrow”, she said.

The woman related that the body of her son was badly decomposed and was only recognizable from behind.
