The yet unidentified man, whose address was said to be in Industry, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A security guard from a nearby business said that he was awakened sometime after midnight yesterday by the sound of a speeding car and ran for safety as he believed that the car, which was proceeding west on the East Coast Public Road, would have slammed into his building.

He said that the car “slammed into something, must be a post” before colliding with another vehicle.

Fortunately the passengers of the other vehicle were not injured.

Police from the Sparendaam Police Station are investigating.

The body of the deceased is at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting an autopsy which is scheduled for today.
