Bus driver shot in back by `passenger’

At about 2200h last night, the police say that a mini-bus driven by Jermain Brown,

38 years, of Sparendaam, ECD, was stopped by a man along the Railway Embankment at Liliendaal, ECD.

The man pulled out a firearm as he entered the vehicle, while another man approached the driver.

At this point Brown accelerated the vehicle and drove away during which the armed man discharged a round which struck him to his back.

He has been admitted to hospital for medical treatment as the investigations continue, police said.
