GBA shortlists boxers for overseas engagements

The Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) has shortlisted 32 pugilists to go into training for possible selection for upcoming overseas assignments.

According to a release, the association’s boxers were invited to attend tournaments in French Guiana and Barbados on March 14 and 21 respectively.

The release further stated that French speaking nation requested a team of nine Simon Pures, two of which has to be females. On the other hand, the association of the ‘Land of the Flying Fish’ requested four boxers and a referee/judge.

The boxers should have begun training from Tuesday at the Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis Gym under the watchful eyes of six coaches (Francisco Roldan, Terrence Poole, Sebert Blake, Wincel Thomas, Clifton Moore and Adrian Thomas)

Training commences from 16:00hrs each day.

The boxers shortlisted are as follows: Tyron Lashley, Jamal Eastman,  Michael April, Glenroy Smith, Imran Khan, Dennis Thomas, Jason Phillips, Quincy Small, Travis Hubbard,  Keevin Allicock, Kevin Allicock, Nankumar Singh,  Klaus Daniels,  Anandram Dharamraj, Jason Barker, Delon Charles, Seon Griffith, Orin Bancroft, Ron Smith, Dewani Lampkin,  Junior Henry, Taseka Howard, Theresa London, Clairmont Gibson, Aquincy Harvey, Eon Bancroft, Desmond Amsterdam, Markember Pierre,  Trevon King, Enoch John, Quincy Boyce and Dwon Thompson.
