Williams slams century as Guyana U15s defeat USA counterparts

The visiting United States of America Cricket Academy (USACA) teams suffered three defeats in their final encounters here.

At the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary, Robin Williams slammed a century to give Guyana Under-15 a convincing 184-run victory over USACA U-15. Williams’s ton enabled his team reach 297-5. He received some assistance from Alphius Bookie who scored 86. In reply, USA was bowled out for 111 in 34.1 overs.

At the Ogle Community Development Centre ground, Bel Air Rubis thrashed USA by 86 runs. Rubis made 196/9, with the principal scorer being Nan Sanicharran who scored 103 while Andrew Samaroo supported with 32. Akhil Kumar took 4/11.

USA never looked in control and was dismissed for 110 31.3 overs. Sanicharran returned with the ball to pick up 3/31 while Michael Pooran and Azande King took two wickets each.

Over at the Demerara Cricket Club ground, East Bank U-18 got the better of USA by one wicket. USA was bowled out for 113 in 31.3 overs with Josh Patel making 31. Ershad Ali and Daniel Basdeo grabbed 4/11 and 3/18 respectively.

East Bank scraped home at 119/9 from 36.3 overs. Troy Domingo and Daniel Barker made 19 and 18 runs respectively. Giranshu Sharma was the main wicket taker with 4/31 while Sahil Patel accounted for 3/27.
