Pomeroon River man wins car in A&S sweepstakes

An Essequibo man was all smiles as he entered the New Year with a brand new car.

Leslie Thornhill won the car in the annual A&S Complex sweepstakes. Businessman Alfro Alphonso, who owns the shopping complex, said in a press release that he is happy that an Essequibo-based company can give back to its customers. He also announced that he will be launching another promotion early in 2016 to commemorate Guyana’s 50th anniversary.

Thornhill who is from the lower Pomeroon area says that he is thankful to the Alphonso and Sons enterprise noting that he is a loyal customer.

The sweepstakes promotion commenced on March 3rd last year. The first prize was a new model Raum car.

To enter the competition, customers had to shop $5,000 and over at any of the Alfro Alphonso & Sons Enterprises entities and they were given a coupon. The entities were RCA TV Channel 8, A&S Complex, Gaulin Supermarket, Xenon Hotel, Cassia Ice House, A&S General Store, Stall 13 Charity, Xenon Service Station, Pomeroon Oil Mill, A&S Fast Food Service and A&S Bar. The release said that the competition was only eligible for persons living in Region Two.
