An East La Penitence man was yesterday freed of charges of assault and using abusive language after his accusers decided against pursuing their complaints.

However, France Prince, of Lot 3 East La Penitence, has been bound by a bond to keep the peace.

Prince was accused of assaulting Sharon Dover on November 16, 2015, and on January 2, at East La Penitence. He was also said to have used abusive language on Ashley Morris at the said location on January 2.

The court heard that Prince and Dover live together and had an argument. Nothing was said about the genesis of the abusive language charge.

Prince, a mechanic and Stereo Sonic Sound System employee, pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

The charges were, however, dismissed after the victims stated that they no longer wanted to proceed given the fact that they had an agreement with the accused to visit the Help and Shelter to seek mediation. Meanwhile, another man, Orin Moore, was placed on $50,000 bail after being read a charge of unlawful wounding.

It is alleged that on December 20, 2015, at South Cummingsburg, Georgetown, Moore unlawfully wounded Alfred Fletchman.

The matter was adjourned to January 28 for reports.
