Guyana Jags hotel incident fully resolved

A hotel booking incident which left the Guyana Jaguars national team unable to access accommodation In Trinidad and Tobago for a few hours has been resolved.

According to reports the team, upon arriving in Trinidad for their semi-final match against the home team today at the Queen’s Park Oval, were unable to access rooms booed for them at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Trinidad, sources from the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) said yesterday.

Stabroek Sport understands that upon the team’s arrival, it was

brought to their attention that the rooms, which were vacated by the ICC Americas team, had not been confirmed for their use.

The source further explained that the Jaguars team management informed the GCB of the situation immediately and the local board then contacted the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) of the incident.

Apparently, the rooms, which were already booked for the Guyana players until January 24 had not been confirmed in the hotel’s reservation system by the staff thus resulting in a brief delay.

However, the matter has since been resolved and the hotel management has since apologized for the inconvenience caused.

According to information reaching this newspaper, the hotel has ensured the players receive the best possible rooms (inclusive of a free Dinner) while the team’s managers were given Presidential Suites.
