Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum yesterday informed Stabroek News that Harris called ‘Shawny’ or ‘Bruk Up’, who is the fourth suspect in the robbery, will be making his first court appearance today. The fifth suspect, Timothy Asher Morrison, 26, of Lot 40 Bougainvillea Park, East Bank Demerara remains on the run.

Three other suspects, Eon Campbell, Sean Aaron and Kennard Jabar were charged on January 27 with robbing tellers Raywanttie Lall and Latchmie Mohabir of $2,075,900 in cash and security guard Shirley Lucas of a .32 Taurus revolver.

They were remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who transferred the matter to the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court for February 9.

Four men, one of whom was armed with a gun, had entered the bank on January 22 and held up the lone private security guard on duty and took away her .32 service revolver.

During the attack, which lasted for about five minutes, the men then held up the two tellers, grabbing over $2 million in cash and escaped in a waiting car bearing false registration plate PNN 8984.
