The constitution provides for the House to make its own rules

Dear Editor,

I have read Mr Anil Nandlall’s response to my letter and wish only to state that apart from its ad hominem, and very characteristic, attack on my learning, it is devoid of substance (‘The Bill did not pass the House’ SN, March 2). Mr Nandlall is expected to know that the very Constitution he now conveniently champions provides for the National Assembly to make its own rules and procedures as to how it will conduct its business, and this includes the process of voting.

We look forward in anticipation to the legal challenge as we are neither impressed nor intimidated by his posturing.

Yours faithfully,
Raphael Trotman
