Woman held over Facebook threats to president released on station bail

Bibi Safaora Salim, the woman who was arrested for allegedly making death threats against President David Granger on Facebook, was released on station bail on Friday evening.

This is according to Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum, who was unable to divulge further details about the case due to its sensitive nature.

Blanhum said as the probe continues, two suspects are yet to be apprehended.

Salim, 52, of East Bank Essequibo, was arrested Thursday morning along with her son who allegedly created her Facebook account for her. He was released on bail on Thursday evening.

This newspaper was told that Salim provided investigators with a statement in which she denied making the threats.
