Eon Andrews not on council

Dear Editor,

I would first like to congratulate the APNU+AFC Coalition for its resounding 2016, Local Government Election (LGE) victory in Georgetown. However, we the residents of North East La Penitence feel that the objective of electing individuals capable of managing our constituency 11 has not been achieved.

We make no apology that we support the coalition but we are not pleased that the coalition managers chose to foist on us, persons we do not know or have never before seen.

Our two leaders had always been Florence Bourne (Aunty Flo) and Eon Andrews (Tall Man). Our leaders told us that Aunty Flo was not taking part in the LGE and Andrews is the coalition candidate but we must support the First Past the Post candidate Sophia Whyte, even though we did not know the person. The Coalition won the PR section for Constituency 11 because Eon Andrews contested.

We feel that not having Andrews on the new council was deliberate and we hope that those kind of injustices in Georgetown do not cause the Coalition further embarrassment as was the case with Winston Harding.

Yours faithfully,
