Order and Discipline top points standings

Order and Discipline climbed to the top of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) first division league, edging Eastveldt by a 2-0 margin yesterday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.

Seon Taylor gave Order and Discipline FC the lead in the 33rd minute, racing onto pass lobbed ball inside the centre of the box before flicking the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper and finishing into the empty net.

Their lead was short-lived as Mase Assanah equalised in the 42nd minute compliments of a right foot penalty conversion into the lower left corner, following a clumsy challenge inside the right of the box.

Nevertheless, Order and Discipline secured the vital three points as Clive Joan scored in the 50th minute, lashing a powerful right foot effort inside the right of the box into the lower left corner, after collecting a pass from Taylor.

With the result, Order and Discipline top the standings with seven points from three games and a superior goal ratio while the losers remain in the fifth position on one point.

Similarly, Black Pearl maintained their surprise unbeaten record in the championship, edging cellar occupant Blackwater FC by a 1-0 scoreline.

Samuel Van Dyke was the difference with a 69th minute strike, racing down the right flank before placing the ball into the empty net after spotting the goalkeeper out his box.

Due to the win, Black Pearl moved onto seven points from three matches while the losers remain score less from three matches. Also, Liliendaal Wolves dropped off the top of the standings after scrapping their way to a 1-1 draw with Houston Stars.

Clekswell Manson gave Houston Stars the surprise lead as he found the back of the net in the 23rd minute. However, Wolves grabbed a share of the spoils as Conrad Saul etched his name on the scorer’s sheet with a 69th minute conversion.

With the result, Wolves move to seven points from three fixtures and sit in the second position due to their weaker goal scoring ratio while Houston Stars climb to two points from three matchups. The event will continue at the same locale with another triple-header on April 24th.
