The three Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) players, all of whom represented Guyana at the Regional youth levels, received their tokens from club mate Orande Chase, son of Mr Chase who is the proprietor of the school.

DCC Vice-President Ian John explained to the youngsters that the opportunity is more than just a trip but a chance to really build on their still budding careers.

Nedd the spinner, Singh the opener and Torrington the medium-pacer, all performed well recently and as such were rewarded with their selection to the Windies youth team.

John also credited coach Garvin Nedd for continuing to produce more Guyana and West Indies players on a consistent basis, adding that his ability to work with the younger crop of players has been reflected over the years as DCC continues to produce more quality youth players than any other club.

The players depart for England today where they will play six matches against some of the top U16 English teams in the 50 overs invitational which bowls off this week.
