GBBC declares Allicock/Narine bout a no contest

The Keeve Allicock/Anthony Narine bout staged on August 27 on the undercard of ‘Bad Intentions’ card has been reviewed by the Guyana Boxing Board of Control and has since been officially declared a ‘No Contest’.

This is according to a release from the GBBC.

Narine was originally declared winner via disqualification but Allicock’s handlers protested the decision leading to the review.

“A review of the recording of the fight has yielded that Mr. Allicock’s illegal blow was in response to a blow by Mr. Narine also thrown after the referee had called a stop to the action and which in consequence, was also illegal.

“Since Mr. Allicock suffered disqualification for his infraction, Mr. Narine has been penalized similarly,” stated the release.

As a result, the GBBC has officially declared the bout a `No Contest’ and the boxers’ records will be adjusted accordingly.
