Albouystown porter charged with escaping from cops at GPH

An Albouystown porter, held for a simple larceny charge, was brought before a city court on Wednesday after he allegedly attempted to escape the custody of the police.

Trevon Xavier, 24, was read a charge stating that on September 3, at the Georgetown Public Hospital police outpost, he dared, being confined under police guard for simple larceny, to prevent the lawful detainment of himself, to escape from that said prison.

Xavier pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Xavier’s bail was set at $50,000 by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who fixed the next hearing in the matter for September 26.
