Woman shot in mouth by miner husband still hospitalized

Sarojini Warnauth, the North Road woman who was shot in her mouth by her husband one month ago, remains admitted at a private city hospital in a stable condition.

Warnauth, 42, was shot in her mouth on August 11 around 7.30pm by her husband, Theodore Adams, who later used the weapon to kill himself at the couple’s North Road, Lacytown, Georgetown home.

Adams died on spot, while Warnauth was subsequently rushed to the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

A relative recently informed Stabroek News that while the woman has been showing some signs of improvement, the warhead remains lodged in her throat.

It is unclear when doctors plan to remove it.

On the night of the shooting, the couple had an argument that saw Adams arming himself with this licensed firearm and shooting Warnauth to her mouth. Shortly after, he shot himself to the head.
