Anerie Doukou, 39, was brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown on a charge that between October 3 and October 7, at the Merriman Mall, Bourda, he broke and entered the stall of Shondell Sealey and stole a quantity of hair and cosmetics, valued $360,000.

The second charge read to Doukou stated that on October 7 at Alberttown Police Station, while confined under police guard on an indictable charge of breaking and entering, he escaped.

Doukou, of Lot 29 Lodge Housing Scheme, pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers objected to bail and noted too that the stolen items were not recovered.

Bail was refused by the Chief Magistrate, who also adjourned the matter until November 22.
