A 90th minute goal from Eon Pluck propelled Kwakwani Strikers to a 3-2 win over Net-rockers when the 3rd Annual Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA)/GT Beer Championship continued on Wednesday.
With the score locked 2-2, at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground in Linden, Pluck rose high to meet a cornerkick, before directing his header into the back of the net.
Prior to the dramatic end, Dellon Duke and Shane Adams scored in the seventh and 58th minute, correspondingly. On target in the loss were DaShawn Young and Shane Luckie in the 30th and 35th minute,respectively.
Meanwhile, Botofago made light work of Amelia’s Ward Panthers, winning by a 3-0 scoreline. Jeshawn Moore, Kellon Primo and Shawn Haynes scored in the 19th, 49th and 83rd minute, respectively.
The tourney will resume today at the same venue with a doubleheader. At 18:00hrs, Eagles United will oppose Milerock, while three time defending champion Winners Connection will tackle Amelia’s Ward Panthers at 20:00hrs.
