Ramit, 27, and Evans, 17, of Lot 1 Water Street, Bagotstown and Lot 1092 B Field, Sophia, had each been charged separately prior to yesterday’s hearing.

The joint charge states that the two, between April 15 and April 16, 2015, at Collingwood Avenue, Nandy Park, murdered Hamid in the course or furtherance of a robbery.

Prosecutor Neville Jeffers reported to the court that one statement in the matter was yet outstanding, leading the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to assign a date for fixture.

Ramit and Evans will return to court on February 8, before Magistrate Judy Latchman, who will set a date for the beginning of the preliminary inquiry into the charge.

Hamid, 56, was found by his wife on April 16, 2015, on the premises of his Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara home bearing multiple stab wounds about his body.
